6 of the Best Moments From the Weekend's Premier League Matches

1. Best Case of Deja Vu

Papiss Cisse

With pressure mounting on Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, he turned to forgotten man Papiss Cisse to keep him in a job.

Pardew, recalling Cisse's two-goal contribution in their win at Swansea in 2012, restored the Senegalese to his starting line-up, believing the former Freiburg man would strike again in South Wales. And the 29-year-old did just that, scoring twice once more, as the Magpies left the Liberty Stadium with a precious point.

2. Best Old Man Struggling With Technology

Harry Redknapp

Redknapp didn't enjoy the happiest of returns to his old stomping ground on Sunday, as his QPR side caved to a 2-0 defeat against West Ham United.

To compound things further, the 67-year-old then appeared to struggle with an incoming call while sat on the touchline and duly passed over the handset to assistant Kevin Bond, who 10 years his junior, is far more familiar with the concept of wireless technology, it seems.

Note to the caller - a telegram would have perhaps been more appropriate.

3. Best Assist

Cesc Fabregas

Having broken Arsenal hearts by returning to the Premier League with Chelsea in the summer, it seemed inevitable that Fabregas would cause his old side further emotional damage when the two sides met on Sunday.

Lo and behold, the Spaniard did just that, picking out team-mate Diego Costa with a prefectly weighted high ball, which caught out the covering Laurent Koscielny.

His team-mate Eden Hazard deserves an honorable mention, too, for dancing past two defenders before being chopped down inside the box - to win a penalty which he duly dusted himself down to take.

4. Best Save

David De Gea

With a number of stunning stops at our disposal, we eventually settled on Manchester United's David De Gea - ahead of Manchester United's David De Gea (who himself only narrowly edged out Manchester United's David De Gea).

The freshly-sheered shot-stopper was at his splendid best against Everton on Sunday, denying the previously perfect Leighton Baines from the penalty spot, before keeping out Steven Pienaar from close range.

But a reaction save from Bryan Oviedo in the dying moments was by far his crowing moment, preventing the Costa Rican from scoring his second goal in two visits to Old Trafford and preserving United's third home win in a row.

5. Best Goal

Adam Lallana

Since Luis Suarez's departure in the summer, Liverpool have struggled for moments of star quality. But on Saturday they found it, via a man who, it seems, has been sorely missed throughout his side's slow start: Adam Lallana.

The £25m midfielder gave Anfield a glimpse of his Southampton form to skillfully drag the ball between two West Brom defenders before exchanging passes with team-mate Jordan Henderson and firing across a helpless Ben Foster.

Henderson's delightful back heel was a close contender for best assist too! Who says that English players aren't technically proficient?

6. Best Match

Manchester United 2-1 Everton

Sunday's early kick-off provided us with so much entertainment we barely needed the three games which followed. The lively all-North-west affair conjured up everything from expansive attacking play to last-ditch defending, with a missed penalty sandwiched in between (more on that to follow).

There were goals from two of the world's best players in Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, while Steven Naismith's strike certainly spiced things up a bit. But for many, the game's best moment belonged to Everton's Tony Hibbert - who emerged so far from his comfort zone to win his side a first-half penalty, that he when he returned to his right-back position he was confronted by squatters (probably).

Daniel Sturridge to follow in footsteps of Eric Cantona and Vinnie Jones... by taking up acting after football!

Daniel Sturridge was taking part in a fashion shoot for Esquire magazine and the Liverpool striker admits he is tempted to take up acting

Eric Cantona and Vinnie Jones cracked it, but will Daniel Sturridge? The Liverpool striker has admitted he fancies dabbling in the movie business once his football career comes to an end.
The England forward has been enjoying the company of supermodels and designers at London Fashion Week, while also recently appearing in his first professional shoot for Esquire magazine.read more @ onlinetotalsport.blogspot.com

Daniel Sturridge has admitted going into acting is something he'd give serious consideration to when he eventually retires from football

Sturridge, who recently took part in a shoot with Esquire, has revealed he loved drama class at school

Sturridge scores against Southampton in the opening game of this season's Premier League campaign

There is an expectation that if you do a sport, any sport, you should never have a life outside of that, he said. 'People expect you to just train, play, train. But that's not me.

'I loved drama class at school. I never took it seriously as I was playing football. But maybe when I retire, I'll have a dabble.'
As controversy surrounds his imminent return from a thigh injury and subsequent absence from Roy Hodgson's latest England squad, the 25-year-old will be seen modelling jackets in the magazine's November issue.
While many may disagree, Sturridge insisted that not all footballer's are badly dressed as he praised some of his teammate's style credentials.
'Hendo (Jordan Henderson) dresses quite well. (Mamadou) Sakho is very dressy, he'll show up for training in a smart shirt and shoes, though I think that's a Parisian thing. Brad Jones has a go. Loves a blazer, Brad Jones...' he said.
As the national team prepare for Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia without their first choice centre forward, Sturridge reflected on England's ill-fated World Cup campaign in Brazil.
'Obviously, it was disappointing. But I lived one of my dreams: I scored a goal at the World Cup. I feel that I gave a good account of myself.'

Daniel Sturridge realised his dream of scoring at the World Cup after netting against Italy

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is Still the King of Boxing Despite Age

As the clock continues to tick toward the expiration date on Floyd Mayweather's reign atop the sport of boxing, the Money spectacle has become, in a word, boring.
Although that hardly means he has lost a step.
Saturday, Mayweather did what he does, putting on a defensive fight to put down Marcos Maidana in their so-called "highly anticipated" rematch by unanimous decision. But the flair was gone.
No extravagant entrance. Hardly any taunting.
The biggest entertainment in the ring was an alleged bite by Maidana and the knee-slapper of a night referee Kenny Bayless put together (he was horrible).
"Another exhibition of the maddeningly effective Mayweather recipe," Showtime boxing analyst Brian Kenny said, per Bleacher Report's Jonathan Snowden. "Look, he wins this easy. I had it 10 rounds to two. He moves, he counters, he clinches. Mayweather is not here for excitement. He is here to win."
Indeed, Mayweather was as business-like as we have seen him as he goes toward the 50-0 mark. He was a sniper shooting proverbial fish in the barrel that night, only truly endangered in Round 3 thanks to a lucky Maidana connection that wobbled his knees.
Fight in hand late in the match, Mayweather danced more than ever before clinching, clearly content to coast and pick up the win from the judges. The result was about as expected, as noted by SI.com's Chris Mannix:

History of Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Born on the third of October, in the year 1981 Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a Swedish football player. He was born to a Croatian mother and a Bosnian father. He started playing football at a very young age of six. He was swapping between FBK Balkan and Malmo BI before he signed his contract. Both FBK Balkan and Malmo BI were junior football clubs in Sweden. His first contract was signed with his home town club Malmo FF in the year 1996. In the year 1999, he moved to Sweden’s flight league Allsvenskan. Closely watching his performance, Arsene Wenger tried to influence Ibrahimovic to join Arsenal, but he failed. Although, the influence of Ajax’s mentor Leo Beenhakkar, did show some positive reactions from Ibrahimovic. Later, as a deal was struck between Malmo and Ajax, Ibrahimovic was relocated to join the Ajax squad for an amount of seven and a half million Euros. He entered the Champions league in year 2002. In this league he scored four goals. His goal against NAC Breda in the year 2004, was titled as the “Goal of the Year”, as the goal was really breathtaking.
On the thirty first of August he was bought by Juventus for sixteen million Euros. In the year 2005, he was awarded the title “Guldbollen” which is the title given for the best footballer for the year. His performance declined after 2005.
After Juventus, Ibrahimovic, signed a contract with Internazionale for a period of four years in the year 2006. He played a centenary Serie A match on the sixteenth of September 2007. His performance was being appreciated again.
On the sixteenth of November, in the year 2008, he announced that he does not prefer to return to Sweden as a player, and would stick to playing for foreign clubs. He won his second “Goal of the Year” award for his goal against Bologna during the season 2008-2009.
